Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 · These terms are published for transparency during early access and are undergoing formal legal review.

1. What Sampul is — and isn't

Sampul is a financial planning platform. It helps you see, organize, and plan your money: cash flow, budgets, goals, zakat, and legacy.

Sampul is not a licensed bank, investment manager, takaful operator, or law firm. We do not hold or move client money, and nothing in the product — including Sampul AI — constitutes personal financial, legal, or religious advice. Licensed advice is available through our partnership with TSI Wealth Planners, provided by licensed professionals.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure — we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication. You must be 18 or older to create an account. Household members you invite get their own accounts and see only what you and they choose to share.

3. Connected accounts

Bank connections are read-only: Sampul retrieves balances and transactions to display and analyse them for you, and cannot initiate payments or transfers. You can disconnect any institution at any time.

4. Planning tools and AI

Forecasts, scenarios, and zakat calculations are planning models based on the data you provide and stated assumptions. They are not guarantees. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Zakat obligations are ultimately determined by your state zakat authority, and estate documents require proper legal execution to be effective.

Sampul AI answers questions using your data and general financial knowledge. It can be wrong. Verify important decisions with a licensed professional.

5. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to breach the security of the service, access other users' data, or use Sampul for unlawful activity. Good-faith security research reported to security@sampul.app is welcome.

6. Fees

Sampul is free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we'll give you clear notice of pricing before you're charged anything.

7. Ending the relationship

You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings → Data. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Sampul provides the service “as is” and is not liable for financial decisions you make based on the information it presents. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Questions: hello@sampul.app.
