Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between wasiat and hibah?

Wasiat is a will effective after death, limited to one-third of your estate for non-heirs under Islamic law. Hibah is a lifetime gift with immediate transfer of ownership and no one-third limit.

Do I need a trust if I already have a wasiat?

A trust can hold assets for minors, protect wealth, and coordinate with hibah. Many families use a wasiat for post-death wishes and a trust for ongoing asset management.

Who executes my documents?

Sampul partners with Rakyat Trustee for professional drafting, witnessing, and registration of wasiat, hibah deeds, and trust documents in Malaysia.

Is my faraid share affected?

Wasiat cannot exceed one-third without heir consent. Hibah transfers assets during your lifetime. The remaining estate still follows faraid unless properly planned with qualified advisors.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes. You can upgrade your plan, edit your summary details, and upload revised documents at any time from the Summary and Documents tabs.
