Categorize and clean up your transactions
Sampul auto-categorizes your spending — here's how to review, correct, and automate it.
Automatic categorization
Every imported transaction gets a category automatically — groceries, dining, utilities, transport, and more. Categorization improves as you make corrections, so early cleanup pays off.
Correcting a category
Open any transaction in Cash flow → Transactions and pick the right category. Sampul asks whether to apply the change to similar transactions so you only fix each merchant once.
Rules
For merchants that always belong in a specific category, create a rule in Settings → Rules. Rules run on every new import — for example, always file your employer's salary as Income, or a specific transfer as Zakat.
